  1. Hi Andi,
I recently finished your short story in “Life Lessons from the Cat” – Journey of Love, and loved it. It reminded me of an incident in our home.
Years ago while living at home in Littleton, MA, we had a cat who was a nice cat, but a food thief. Once he got up on the counter and stole some fresh food. My parents were unhappy about this. The cat slept in our garage/cellar, under our house. He somehow got into my Dad’s car. The next morning my Dad left for work in Arlington, MA, about 20-25 miles away. He finally realized the cat was in the car, but couldn’t turn around and bring him home or he would be late for work! When he arrived at work, he decided to leave him in the car, and bring him home at the end of the day, but somehow the cat got out of the car before my Dad could lock it! That was Mon. morning around 7:00.
He told us when he got home around 7:00 PM. We were very upset, and even blamed my Dad somewhat, thinking he may have done it on purpose! Anyway, around 6:00 PM the following day, my younger brother said the cat is at the back door – should I let him in? My Mom was astonished, as were we! And my Dad seemed to be also when he returned from work!
To find his way home, and especially in about 36 hours, he had to go through a number of towns, including going across Rt. 128, which is a very, very busy highway, though it has a bridge over it. A few different roads had to be followed, though Belmont, Lexington, Waltham, Concord and Acton- to Littleton, and a number of decisions had to be made – going North, then West, etc. This cat had never left our property before! His paws were fairly worn down, but he seemed in good shape!
We never figured out just how he did all this, and in a relatively short period of time, but he was treated like a God after that, We were pretty happy that he had returned home! A miracle, and a happy one!
Thought you might like this little story!
